On Thurs evening 11/19/15 at 8:25pm, Mohegan Fire and EMS units were dispatched to R.t 6 (East Main St) in the area of Regina Ave in Cortlandt for a reported motor vehicle accident-pedestrian struck. Upon arrival of units, a pedestrian was found struck by a vehicle and laying in the roadway. Mohegan EMS 69B3 and Cortlandt Medic 35Medic1 provided EMS care and transported the pedestrian to the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. Due to the nature of the call, New York State Police requested Mohegan Fire units to assist with the road closure until released by the police at 9:40pm for a pending accident investigation and reconstruction. Mohegan Fire Units operating at this incident were Car 2264, DC40, DC41, Engine 257, Engine 258, Rescue 32, 69B3, 35Medic1, NY State Police, and Westchester County Police.

At 10:10pm, NY State Police requested Mohegan Fire units back to the scene to assist with the road closure of Rt 6 and also with scene lighting for their police investigation. Car 2264, 2265, Engine 258, and Utility 50/Fire Police unit assisted NY State Police on scene with scene lighting and traffic control with the road closure of Rt. 6 from Baker St to Lexington Ave. Mohegan Fire units cleared the scene at 1:00am, when released by NYSP at the conclusion of their investigation.

During this incident, Mohegan Fire units also responded to a water condition, residential fire alarm activation, and a reported structure fire. This was in fact a busy evening and overnight in torrential rainfall!
