On Friday night 10/16/15 at 8:26pm, Mohegan Fire and Mohegan EMS were dispatched to Rt. 202 and Pine Grove Ct in Yorktown for a motor vehicle accident with extrication. Upon arrival of units, a 2 vehicle head-on collision was found with confirmed extrication needed on one of the vehicles. Members put the combo tool from Engine 252 into operation, and members quickly popped the driver's door to gain access to the victim. During this, other members began treating the other patients, and began to mitigate the large amount of fluids in the roadway, while Yorktown Police shut down Rt 202 to all traffic. Mohegan EMS 69B2 with Peekskill FD 39Medic2, transported 1 patient to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, while Mohegan EMS 69B1 and 69B3 transported the other patients to New York Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital. Mohegan FD stood by on scene and assisted until the vehicles were removed with tow trucks. All units cleared by 10pm. Also assisting on scene were Westchester EMS 45Medic1 and Yorktown 34Medic1. This was the end to a very busy day for Mohegan FD/EMS, including a first due structure fire.
