On Fri. 3/30/12 at 4:28pm, Mohegan units were dispatched to Croton Ave in the area of Baptist Church Rd in Cortlandt for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Upon arrival, Mohegan units found a car vs tractor trailer accident on Croton Ave in the area of the Croton Fire District boundary. Members began scene size up and determined that the driver's door of the car would need to be removed to access the driver. Both the Combination Hurst tool and Hurst Cutters off the front bumper of Engine 252 went into operation after the vehicle was stabilized and members quickly removed the door, while the patient was in the care of 39Medic2. Other members stoodby with a 1 3/4" hoseline to protect the driver and members on scene. The driver was removed and turned over to Mohegan VAC 69B2. The driver was transported to Hudson Valley Hospital by 69B2. Members assisted at the scene with traffic control until the vehicle was towed away. Also asisting on scene was New York State Police. Members went back into servioce at approx. 5:30pm. During this accident, Engine 258 and other members were operating at a brush fire on Rick Lane in Cortlandt that was dispatched at 3:48pm.
